The Kensington is a relatively new addition to the Burgess open coil spring mattress range being introduced some six years ago. The mattress employs a 288-count spring in the 4’6 size but is deeper at 6” versus the standard 5.5”. Each spring in the Kensington has six coils versus the standard spring specification of five coils thereby yielding a much different feel. The product is offered in one tension and has proved to be very popular when used in conjunction with slatted as well as traditional bases.

Filling Specification

Woollen Typar insulator which is hand stitched to the spring and layers of wool. Over 35lbs of wool are used in the upholstery of the standard double size.

Finishing Specification

The border is machine quilted. Four reinforced flag stitched handles are added to all sizes along with solid brass ventilators to allow the mattress to breathe. Finally the mattress is tufted with white felt washers attached by hand with cotton popins.
